Soroptimist is an international organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.

Spearheaded by Grace Yarnell Hadfield, the Soroptimist Club of Phoenixville was chartered by a group of women in 1945 to improve the status of women in our local area.

Soroptimist International of the Americas has more than 1,400 clubs in 19 countries and territories. Clubs assess the needs of their communities and then undertake projects that will best fill those needs. Read the annual report.

Our projects raise funds to help attain our mission. We provide scholarships for high school girls and educational opportunity awards for women. We also help to meet needs at a domestic violence shelter. Other projects include raising funds for our holiday giving program for families in need, children's literacy programs and more. Our primary annual fundraisers include a Fashion Show, Basket Bingo and Art Show.
